NYFW STREETSTYLE

Photography by Tommy Ton
Fashion week is not just about the shows, it's about the fashion crowds that come to watch said shows as well. To be more particular, it's about their outfits. For fashion week, everyone steps up their game when it comes to dressing up and the scene outside the venues has become just as interesting as the shows themselves. And because I'm still on a mission to jazz up my winterwardrobe, some inspiration is very welcome. So here are some of the outfits worn during NYFW.

MARC JACOBS

Ahh Marc Jacobs. Once again, he put on a show that was so much more than just a presentation of his collection. His catwalks are always something special, and the played with the lighting was so different from what we're used to that you really have to see it for yourself to understand it. So instead of the usual pile of pictures, below you find video of the show. The shifting camera gets slightly annoying at some point, but to hear Marc's commentary makes it totally worth it.

THEYSKENS THEORY

It might be a bit early to be naming favorites already, but I'm afraid here's another one.

THE ROW

The Olsen twins kept up the monochrome looks from last season, but have progressed towards more wearable clothes. Since they wear their clothing themselves, they figured out soon that life doesn't consist of dinner parties and business meetings only, so besides some exquisite chique ensembles they showed the classic dress pants plus fishermens knit combination, and more wearable outfits like these. The collection seems simple, but is far from that.

PRABAL GURUNG

If there was an award for best backstory behind a collection, Prabal Gurung would be very likely to win it.

BAND OF OUTSIDERS

After a bit more delay due to a stubborn flue it's finally time to take a closer look at some of the fashion shows that are taking place in the big apple this week. First up: forties-fashion meets space invaders at Band
of Outsiders.
